About Mine Health and Safety Inspection Fee
The Mine Health and Safety Inspection Fee is collected by the Ministry of Small Business and Revenue on behalf of the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources. For mine health and safety inspections performed at a mine, the fee must be paid on an annual basis, as follows:
- For the period January 1 to June 30 (inclusive), the fee must be paid on or before July 31 of that year
- For the period January 1 to December 31, the fee must be paid on or before January 31 of the following year (less the amount paid by July 31 for January 1 - June 30)
For mine health and safety inspections done at sand and gravel, quarry, and limestone operations, the fee is calculated on an annual basis. It must be paid
by the owner, agent or manager of the mine on or before January 31 of the following year.
