Address Changes
Keeping your address current at the Surveyor of Taxes office and BC Assessment is as important as notifying hydro, telephone, gas, and the post office. Accurate address and ownership records ensure you receive your property tax notice on time.
When you move, please advise the Land Title Office, your local BC Assessment office, and your local Service BC-Government Agent office or the Surveyor of Taxes office. You can notify the Surveyor of Taxes office by contacting us, or by submitting an online Change of Address form.
Temporary address changes are recorded as a permanent address, as only one address can be registered per owner. You must advise the Surveyor of Taxes and BC Assessment of changes as they occur. All statements and tax notices are mailed to the last-known address.
When you change your address with the Surveyor of Taxes, please be sure to indicate the account number(s) to which the change is applicable.
If you do not receive your tax notice by mid-June, please contact us at the Surveyor of Taxes office or the local Service BC-Government Agent office. You will be charged a penalty for taxes unpaid after the due date, even if you did not receive your notice.
Property ownership records must also be kept current.
