write to the Surveyor Taxes
complete and submit our online Refund/Transfer Form.

Written requests for refund should be sent to:

Please allow 30 to 60 days for processing your refund. The time may vary based on the volume of requests we receive or the complexity of your account.

Who gets the tax refund

If a financial institution, mortgage company, lawyer, or notary public pays taxes on behalf of a client, the refund will be issued to whoever made the payment resulting in a credit on the account.

If, however, the credit is created by the property owner's payment, a written request is required for the refund to be issued. Otherwise, the credit will remain on the account and applied towards the following year's taxes.

In the case of an ownership change for properties that underwent a supplementary reassessment, the refund will be issued to the current owner of the property regardless of who made the payment.
